Thesis Title: Five thousand years of human diet change in North-Central Poland: Evidence from carbon and nitrogen stable isotopes.

Douglas E. Crews

About

I am a physical anthropologist specializing in stable carbon and nitrogen isotope biochemistry.  My primary research interest is in the relationship between human ecology and behavior, focusing on diet as the critical integrative link between physiology, behavior and the environment.  My current research investigates diet change in Poland over the past 5,000 years, and I am beginning new research that examines past human mobility in Eastern Europe.  I am also interested in life history and disease studies, and have developed new applications of stable isotope techniques in primatology and paleopathology.
