About

I completed my B.A. (2007) at the University of California, San Diego, working with Nicholas Christenfeld and Piotr Winkielman. I completed my M.A. (2010) with Wil Cunningham at Ohio State and am currently a Ph.D. candidate in social psychology. My research interests broadly include the ways in which both language and cognition interact to shape subjective experiences of emotion. One line of inquiry focuses on the computational processes underlying affective and emotional experiences. Another line of research focuses on the mechanisms that give rise to happiness, including cognitive, motivational, and perceptual processes. I have begun to take a positive neuroscience approach to address these questions.
